"The road goes on forever and the party never ends"

Nick Martini in Iceland

I love this time of year in Boston. The leaves have fallen and that nice, crisp smell of Autumn fills your senses with an indication that winter is just around the corner. To those of us who think that winter and skiing go hand in hand, i'd like to welcome you to winter! In Boston, this weekend marks the introduction to this time of year through use of ski films and exhibitions where all walks of life assemble at the Teton Gravity Research's "One For the Road" and, as Cole illustrated on the last post, Warren Miller's "Like There's no Tomorrow". Both films showcase some of today's best skiers on some of the most challenging runs on earth.

For those of you that are not into skiing, there's always a time to start and it is never too late. Spending time on the mountain can be a way to free your mind completely, focus on all that surrounds you and forget all of life's worries. When i'm at the top of a mountain or doing some tree skiing, I like to imagine that I am on another planet. It's an out of this world experience that will keep you coming back for more.
